Dr Alice Mulcahy

Alice graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2013 and commenced her junior medical training in Tasmania.  She completed her anaesthetics training across Tasmania and South Australia, culminating in a fellowship specialising in Trauma Anaesthesia at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.  

Initially commencing as a specialist anaesthetist in Adelaide, Alice returned to Hobart in 2023 where she balances working with the Hobart Anaesthetic Group and a staff specialist appointment at the Royal Hobart Hospital.  

Alice’s special interest areas include trauma, regional and obstetric anaesthesia, and acute pain management, though she enjoys working as a general anaesthetist across all areas.  She is passionate about quality improvement and advocacy in anaesthesia, and currently Chairs the Calvary Hospital Anaesthetic Subcommittee as well as beong invlolved in many other extracurricular activities including medical student and junior doctor teaching, educational workshop for anaesthetists and other specialists and promoting safe and best practice through the ASA.

Outside of work Alice is busy with her children and family and enjoys bushwalking, baking and piano.
