Dr. Andrew Mulcahy joined the Hobart Anaesthetic Group in 1988 after gaining his fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Over more than 30 years of specialist anaesthesia practice he has worked in a number of positions in different areas including as a Visiting Medical Officer at the Royal Hobart Hospital and at all private hospitals in Hobart.
Dr. Mulcahy has held a number of posts representing anaesthetists both locally and nationally including being President of The Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA) as well as having been an office bearer of the ASA for more than 30 years. He has been a member of The Medical Council of Tasmania and is currently a member of the national Medical Board of Australia.
Dr. Mulcahy has been involved in medical education over many years having lectured to undergraduate medical students at the University of Tasmania, postgraduate nursing students, contributed to continuing medical education for the Tasmanian Ambulance Service and convened the National Scientific Congress for the ASA.
Dr. Mulcahy enjoys spending free time with his family and cycling.
