Dr Pete Mulcahy

Pete graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2011 and completed his junior doctor years at the Launceston General Hospital. He completed his anaesthetic training through the Tasmanian Anaesthetic Training Program working across various hospitals around the state. He completed his fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital with a focus in neuroanaesthesia and trauma management.

Following his fellowship he moved back to his home state and commenced at the Royal Hobart Hospital as a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist in 2020 before joining the Hobart Anaesthetic Group in 2022.

He has an interest in trauma, airway, neuro and regional anaesthesia however enjoys all aspects of anaesthesia. He works closely with the University of Tasmania in the education and training of medical graduates and manages the anaesthetic allergy testing clinic for Tasmania.

Outside of work Pete is an avid cyclist and average golfer. He loves spending time with his family, young daughter and dog Alfie.
