Dr Robert Paton
Anaesthetist
MBBS, DRCOG, FANZCA
Rob is the current longest serving member of The Hobart Anaesthetic Group, joining in 1983.
Graduating in 1975, Rob undertook further training in Mackay QLD before heading to Leicester in England, where he also studied and obtained a diploma in obstetrics.
Rob returned to Tassie in 1979, where he took on a position at the Royal Hobart Hospital. While here, Rob obtained his Anaesthetic fellowship during 1982.
In 1983, Rob joined our practice as not only an Associate Anaesthetist, but also as a pain management specialist. Rob continued down this path until recently, when he retired from being Hobarts busiest and most popular pain specialist, in December 2023.
Rob continues to undertake his role in Anaesthetics a few days a week across a variety of fields, mainly concentrating in ENT.
Cycling was a hobby for Rob for many years, but these days he can be found spending all his spare time on his large farm and homestead where he loves driving his machinery and breeding and farming his animals with his best mate George the german shorthaired pointer by his side.
